Quarter finals results
We would like to Thank all of our participants who came out to Johnson Center to participate today in the NBA Fit , Dribble swish and dish competition today. The skills challenge was run by EBCOA and focused on youth ages 7 to 12 boys and girls starting a little before half court where they dribble to the basket to attempt a right side lay-up followed by a free throw shot followed by dribbling around 3 cones to a circle where they made a pass to an instructor who then passed it back where they dribbled to the left side of the baseket for a final lay-up. The best female and male in each age division would move on to participate in the semi finals to be held at Baruch College January 25th, 2015. They will go against other participates who won the event throughout 5 boroughs with the final winner of each division going on to compete for the finals during the NBA Allstar game in February in NY.
The event was a magnificant showing of youths from the Johnson projects and surrounding areas getting together for some fun, fitness and all round competition in basketball. The Gauchos is having theres as well on January 19.
